A Night in the Country

This past weekend, my mom, sister, some friends, and I drove out to the boondocks for a huge country music festival called Night in the Country.  This was my first year going and I will be going every year from now on.
This year I didn't realize how much of a giant party the thing is so I just brought the camping basics and some concert clothes but next year I'll be prepared with a redneck swimming pool (truck bed covered in tarp and filled with water) and every other hilbilly item that you could imagine.
Anyway, here are some of the pictures from my first Night in the Country.
Tent Construction.
My dad and boyfriend swore we would never get it.
We did.
Night One

Night one included Brett Eldredge, Lee Brice, and Neal McCoy.
Momma & Baby Sissy
One of my bestests since highschool.
The morning after.
My face explains the previous night's party.
My mom,  the woman who I've never even witnessed
eat a single french fri,
ordered TWO desserts for breakfast.

To her credit, they were 100%
homemade.

Night 2 included Curtis & Luckey, Lonestar, and Joe Nichols.
My brother, his friend, and our visiting cousin from Kansas decided to
come for the second night.
Night 2.
My beautiful mommy and I.

Study Break

Ohhh Finals Week.  The most dreaded 2 weeks of ever student's year.  Luckily I don't have too hard of finals this semester but that doesn't seem to reduce the amount of studying required for them.  One of my finals... my math one...is worth over 50% of my grade. Seriously...why even do the other work for the class if all of your efforts are determined in 2 hour time period?
This weekend was full of both happiness and sadness.  No one should have to feel sadness during this time of year but sometimes I guess there just isn't anything you can do about it.  Because of the other things I have to talk about, I am going to skip my Radvent for this post.

1. I went to the river this weekend to hoop with my friend Aly.  She is really good at...I am not but it is definitely a big goal of mine because I wanna look this awesome when I go to burning man next year.

2. I made a bazillion cookies with my mommy this weekend that I need to deliver this week.  As cute as mine were though, I have to show you what my roomie baked to give to people.  She is so creative.    ----->

3.  Now for the sad.  Two of my family friends' children passed away this weekend.  Two totally different families. Can you imagine?! I was not close to either of them but that does not change the heartache I have for those who were.
First of all, Sarah.  Sarah was only 20 and passed away from a blood clot in her lung that they found only 36 hours prior.  Our parents were good friends and Sarah and I attended our church youth group together for many many years.  She was a beautiful person and all those who knew her will never forget her.  Rest in Peace Sarah.   ♡ Nick, the 17 year old brother of a boy on my brother's football team passed away this morning.  I am unaware of the reason but my heart goes out to that little boy and his family.

Remember to appreciate those you love because tomorrow is never a guarantee.

This is just because I really miss my high school friends.

Today I was going through my scrapbook from high school and I just can't believe its already been three years since I graduated.  I feel like I could still be in high school.  Really, it wasn't my place and most of me is glad that its over but there is one thing I miss wayyyy too bad.  I miss waking up every day and spending my whole day with my friends (even if the setting was boring).  Now I only see them a few times a year and its just stinky.  I miss you guys very very much. I can't believe we are all getting to be such oldies!!

My Best Loves: Aly, Emily, and Tyler

In memory of Greg

Greg St. Amand.  I only met him a few times and we never got the chance to become close friends but many of my friends loved him very much.  Greg went missing in late January and his body was found this past Saturday. I send nothing but love to Greg's family and friends; I can't imagine the loss they must be feeling.  Please keep the St. Amand family in your thoughts.  His facebook page http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001937818220&sk=wall , is full of wonderful stories shared by those closest to him to honor his life with the best of memories.  Rest in Peace Greg, I know you are missed.

As always, his death shows how short life can be and how much we all need to remember to appreciate the things, experiences, and people that surround us.
Go out and enjoy something today.

A Miracle

Nicky.  An amazing kid with a heart of gold, a contagious smile, and full of spirit is currently struggling with many medical issues that have been consuming him and his family lately.  He has been in the hospital for over a month now and a few days ago it was a possibility that he would not be living through the night.  Amazingly though, he was able to push past that obstacle and with his perseverance, the power of prayer, good energy, and love from his family and friends he is now in a stable condition and is already back to being the smiling kid he is.  It is truly amazing what the power of love and hope can do for a person.  Nicky and his family have become an inspiration for me to fight for myself and the people/things I love.  I have never met a stronger or more positive group of people.  I will continue to send good thoughts their way and I hope you'll do the same.  Stay strong Nicky...we all miss you!
