Motivate!

Last summer I was the healthiest I have ever been but I lost it as soon as school started and I haven't really had the motivation to get it back...until now with spring break quickly approaching.  I don't know about you but it is hard for me to motivate myself to work out at home so I have been going around to different gyms in my area.  Unfortunately, I haven't found the one for me but I can't keep stalling.  So today, I went out and bought some home workout equipment and started a journal with some of my favorite at home workouts.   I have learned that getting fit works best if you have other people doing it with you so while I am not a fitness blog, I will be posting some at-home workouts, fitness ideas, playlists, and grocery lists to help motivate myself and hopefully you too.  Let me know if you are joining in with me because its easier to post if I know I'm posting for more than just myself!!

To Start: Get the Gear!
I went to Wal-Mart today and got a yoga mat, stretch bands, and some hand weights (5lbs). I have a (pretty crappy) treadmill at my apartment complex that I am going to try and make myself use also.  Hopefully this stuff will help me to feel like I have a little home gym.
Stretch Bands: $9.97
Yoga Matt: $9.94
Weights: $5.44 each

I have mentioned before that I use 8tracks.com for my online music rather than pandora so click here to find a workout playlist that fits you! There are soooo many.  

Hope this helps some of you.  I'm all pumped and ready to workout now! 
I haven't decided yet if I'm going to post measurements/updates yet.  I guess it depends on whether or not anyone joins me.

My New Motivator

Weekend Love

My weekend was great.  I don't know if it was because it was my first weekend of summer or just because but regardless, i got to see all my favorite people and have fun with them.


First of all, I got to help my awesome friend Hayley get ready for her Prom.  She looked so beautiful and I heard she had an amazing time.  I am so happy that I got to be apart of her day yesterday.  She even got a limo..I was slightly jealous.  




Then, like most days, I got to see my Jakob and we didn't really do much but we have fun all the time anyway.  I just love that kid.  




Of course today was Mommy's Day and I spent it with my family only after running a 5k with my roomie and her sister.  Let me tell you, it kicked my butt- I need to hop on that treadmill considering summer is fastly approaching.  Don't laugh but my time was 30:39...honesty, not bad for my out of shape butt.  After that exhausting experience, I went to my family's house and we just hung out- it was nice to just be with them for a day.  I even let my little sister drive my car! Eeek! Most importantly though, this day was for my mom and all the wonderful things she has done for me and my siblings throughout the years.  She is the strongest and most beautiful woman I know.  Love You Momma!
