Motivtion

Yesterday, I wrote a very long, very complainy post about how I feel about my life right now.  It was scheduled to post today but then last night, I had a chance to re-think some things.

So I deleted my super long post about how school isn't going right and I am behind 2 years in graduating, work isn't going right because I don't feel recognized for what I do, and I feel like I'm contributing next to nothing to mine and my boyfriend's home money-wise, because I realized that the reason that I am feeling so stagnant in my life is because I am used to achieving things fairly regularly and right now, although I really really am trying, nothing is becoming accomplished on the time schedule I had in my mind.

So I came up with a way to change this.  Much better than moping about it through my blog, right?
I am going to get my second degree black belt.  I have been a first degree for 7 years, not wanting to work for my second because it had always just felt like another thing to add the hectic schedule of Nicole, but at this point in my life, I think that I need to do it because even though it is going to be stressful, at least I'll feel like I am succeeding at something.  And hopefully I'll graduate college sometime before I turn 80.

*Sigh of Relief* I am glad I could turn this post from something so negative to something positive and productive.  Thanks for reading about my mid-21 year old life crisis.

Autumn!!

Besides school and work taking up all of my time, I couldn't be more happy to welcome fall this year!

Jake and I had a roommate but since I moved in after he and Jake had already been living here for a year, I was never fully comfortable taking over the house with al of my festive decorations because I felt like it was more of a man's house.  But a series of unfortunate events occurred last weekend and our roomie had to move out.  It was sad to see him go but now we have an extra bedroom, bathroom, and closet (I called it), annnnnd I get to go crazy with decorating my house with the stuff I love!

Wreath, Table, Pumpkin from Ross (similar to TJ Max

So today...I set off to make a Fall Wreath to hang on my front door.  I ended up giving it to my great grandpa to hang on his 'front door' at his retirement home because he just needed some happy today.  So then to compensate, I went crazy at Ross and bought a million (4) other decorations for my own home.

Gold Leaf Place Mat from Ross.
I made the candle centerpiece from the scraps leftover from the wreath  that I made.

My homemade wreath. It was super simple...here is how:
1. Picture Frame (Dollar Store)
2. Leaves and Flowers (cut from bouquets from the dollar store)
3. Fall Stickers (Dollar Store)
4. Ribbon (Dollar Store)
Glue your hearts out!  I used super glue because I don't have a hot glue gun but I am sure that would have worked way, way better!

Oh and...the PRINTABLE!  Who doesn't love adorable, free printables?!  My Blessed Life has 12 of them that are all super cute and autumn themed.  I plan on framing a few and putting them in the stairway.

Have a lovely first week of my second favorite season!

New Obsession.

Naked Cats.
Seriously.
I want one.
But apparently, they are the hardest things to find, pretty much ever, and when you do find them, they are $1000.  So. Not. Fair.

I have to have one.   I really, really do.

This Pinterest board is all about free printables! Who can resist?!

So is this one.  You are welcome.

I heard about this website through 'The Curious Pug' and it is definitely worth passing on.

Dogshaming is a hilarious tumblr where people post pictures of ashamed pets and their shame-able actions.  I'm sure you'll see Bentley on there soon enough!

The Honest Toddler blog.  You will laugh.

If history had a facebook.....

This guy pretends to be famous and ends up pranking half of NYC.  That would be way too fun to try.

Dreams

I don't remember my dreams very often and when I do, they are always full of ideas and images that stick with me for days on end, and, they are usually of the nightmare genre.

I had one dream, 6 years ago, that has never ever left me. I cried the entire day after I had it and I cringe whenever it pops into my head now. I felt so dumb for crying over a dream and having such real feelings toward but then a friend told me that your brain, when it is dreaming, has no ability to make a distinction between reality and make believe. I don't know how true that really is, but it definitley makes sense and comforts me when this kind of thing happens.

The reason that I decided to post this is because I had one of those dreams a few nights ago.  It is not something I am going to discuss because I believe that dreams are only meant for you and that is why putting them into words never does them any justice.
But it has me pondering...is this a normal thing? To have dreams so real that they haunt you for years on end and actually feel like a distant memory rather than a story? How do these stories even come about in your mind while you are sleeping?  This will be my third dream like this and none of them contain feelings or images that I want to welcome.

I think I need to get a dream catcher.
